About Del Mar Building, Inc.
Del Mar Building, Inc. got its start in the construction business in 1978 when company founder Leo Fuller started working as a framer while completing his degree in mechanical engineering at the University of California San Diego. The part-time job became Leo's passion, and after graduating from UCSD, Leo continued in the construction business and formally started Del Mar Building, Inc. as a licensed general contractor in 1994.
Today, Leo's formal background in mechanical engineering is just one factor that distinguishes Del Mar Building, Inc.. Our expertise in the interplay of physics and design allows us to work with engineers, architects, and you in a uniquely profound way. Rather than just follow a plan, we see and conceptualize the essential elements that are the foundation of fine craftsmanship and discriminating home building.
We also take pride in the fact that Leo has a long personal history of doing finely detailed craftsmanship in our own workshop. For example, hand-building doors & trim work.
Unlike other construction firms, we only run a few projects at any time. This focus allows us to deliver detail-obsessed craftsmanship from foundation to chimney cap, window frame to bath fixture. The fact that we are totally dedicated to you – not running multiple jobs all over San Diego County – means that we are always available, helpful, and attentive to our craft.
